Our 7th grade computers class focuses on how we use computer technology in the 21st century. Some areas of focus are keyboarding skill development, a study of the Microsoft Office Suite to include programs such as Word, Excel, & PowerPoint. Because we are a Google Classroom, students also learn how to integrate MS Office programs with the Google platform. They learn about strengths & weaknesses of the platforms as well as compatibility issues. Eighth graders start in a similar fashion learning to key properly while studying MS Office, but during the 2nd quarter, 8th grade computer students will learn about Applications (apps) and how they are created as well as web page design & development through the process of writing code such as HTML5, CSS3, & Java Script.
8th grade business students will also be working on keyboarding as an essential function of computer technology in the workplace while exploring business essentials to include entrepreneurship, additional practical workplace skills, finance, promotion & selling, talent management, as well as web page design & development for the small business.
